I loaded these for my 257 WTBY and had them pushing right around 3900 fps. Flat shooting and hard hitting. I seated to mag length minus a 1/2 thousandth for good measure and wont be changing a thing going forward - one and done load. One at a stones throw and the other at 330 yards. I do have other powders but cant find similar load data for these hammers. All other powders listed wont even come close to N120 . Dont worry too much about coal just make sure they feed out of the magazine good. And Im totally confident in their terminal performance on elk. 57.5 gr of 4831sc seemed to work the best of the 3 powders I tried. Pushing these 3115fps with H1000 and Peterson brass. I plan to use it for my wife and daughter as a low recoil antelope hunting round. This was by far the fastest easiest load development I have ever had including other Hammer's. I run this little dude 4100-4300fps in 14 twist 22/250s and 220 swifts out to 375 yds kills deer like lighting! Check for updates and measurements regularly. Most accurate non-lead bullet I have ever used by far! I agree with the last paragraph above. I set the OAL to just fit in the magazine and loaded up 4 rounds with varying charge weights of H1000. I have used the DeadBlow version of these on deer in the UK and they work extremely well. Hammers do have a sligtly lower BC than any tipped copper bullet. Recently started running them in my 224 Valkyrie for predator (fox, coyote) hunting and they are outstanding terminally!
